About Us

Mission Statement

Our school logo portrays the school motto, 'Firm Roots, Branches In the Sky'. This has been adapted from a Qur'anic verse, which describes the results of strong lmaan as a tree with strong roots, healthy branches and flourishing fruits.

Insha-Allah, it is our aim to build these strong foundations in our pupils by sowing the seeds of the Holy Qur'an and Noble Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) so that they may blossom into devout, practising Muslims and become an asset for our society.

It is our belief that children should enjoy their school, find satisfaction in their achievement and realise their potential to the fullest. Our target is to continuously assess and positively reward the effort and progress made by our pupils. We aim to Insha Allah, deliver education in stimulating and challenging ways, setting tasks and goals that are achievable to all.

The school endeavours to create tolerant individuals. We all aim to help your child respect and appreciate others, their cultural background, feelings, views and all capabilities in an Islamic perspective.

We have high expectations of our pupils not only in academic excellence but also in standards of behaviour and character, both inside and outside school. We also hope to equip our pupils with skills to confidently accept the challenges of today's changing world.

We are proud to cater for children of diverse backgrounds, races and cultures. The majority of the children at Al-Ashraf Primary use English as an additional language (EAL). we are proud of our diversity and work incredibly hard to ensure children with EAL are catered for, through a broad and balanced curriculum with a particular focus on written and spoken English. Our statutory assessment results reflect our positive work across the school.

At Al-Ashraf Primary School we seek to maintain close cooperation between the school, parents and the wider community. Partnership with parents continues to be a major theme at our school. We have a brilliant Parent Committee who guide us, support us, and help us fundraise to meet our objectives.
