Our three guests from the RAF judged the teams' starters & desserts and awarded marks for:

Starter: Kebabs on skewers which incorporate lean proteins, healthy fats, vegetables, and grains. The kebab skewers will consist of kebab pieces with vegetables, which also has a lot of flavourful spices used in abundance. (Not suitable for vegetarians)
Hummus: (dip made from chickpeas and tahini) served with carrots and naan bread.
Dessert: fresh baklava and ice cream on the side.
The use of a variety of two-course starter and dessert shows the tantalising flavours of the Middle East.
Team 1: N. Foulds, E. Bah, F. Ouilidi
Starter: Garlic Bread - Baguette spread with Butter, garlic, coriander.
Dessert: Apple crumble.
A dessert made of sweet and tangy succulent apples, topped with crumble consisting of flour, sugar, oats, cinnamon, and butter. Served with a choice of custard/whipped cream/ ice cream!
Many Thanks for inviting us to attend. We have had such an amazing day with your students, they really are a credit to the school and their families, hopefully they enjoyed the day as much as we did!
Lunch was fabulous, the effort and pride the students put into their menus and cooking was certainly evident. We feel we have been truly spoilt as visitors (and have left feeling very full 😊).

Year 10 & 11 pupils will be holding a bake-off competition on Friday 22nd October from 11am - 12:30pm.
Working together in groups of three, they will be putting their Food Tech. knowledge & skills to test by preparing a starter/dessert for our guests from the RAF.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners and runners up teams.
