Year 10 Business Studies: Adding value to a potato!

Year 10 pupils were tasked with creating a finished potato product that demonstrates one or more of the five key ways of adding value:

  1. Convenience
  2. Branding
  3. Quality
  4. Design
  5. Unique Selling Point (USP)

The aim of the task was to help pupils understand the concept of added value, which is the difference between the price of the finished product and the cost of the inputs used to make it. Pupils explored how businesses can add value through innovation, presentation, and meeting customer needs.
