As our Organisms learning journey progressed, Year 7 learnt about the two different types of microscopes and why we had the Light Microscope in our school science lab.
They followed instructions and enjoyed setting up their microscopes being careful to check the magnification settings.
There were lots of squeals of delight and a few ‘eels’ when the images appeared. The plants cells magnified to show beautiful plants cells walls and clear organelle structures. And the insects parts magnified to show hairy spider legs!
Students drew the images carefully and beautifully into their books and finally calculated the magnification.
Definitely an eye opening and fun topic!
