Year 8s have become experts on recognising mechanisms in simple machines that make work easier by reducing the force needed.
A lever is a great example of how force can be multipled by increasing the distance from the pivot.
Year 8 students carried out a scientific investigation to understand how distance from the pivot would make work easier.
